What Happens Next?

I have completed an application form - what happens next?

You'll be sent a written response from us within 4 working days advising whether you are eligible to be added to the register.

If accepted you are encouraged to carry out a search for properties that are currently available in your area of choice.  The information includes appropriate contact details for each provider.  You can search for properties by clicking here.

I am interested in FirstBuy, what is my next step after completing the HomeBuy application form?

Once you have been accepted on to the South West Homes register, your next step is to apply for the FirstBuy scheme. Please contact one of our approved financial advisors by clicking here, or alternatively you can contact a developer's recommended financial advisor. They will carry out a free financial assessment for you, the assessment is then sent to our FirstBuy team who will assess you for FirstBuy, if approved they will issue you with your Approval Letter, this will contain your Property Information Form (PIF) please take this to your developer to reserve your property.

Please note that that any money paid in order to reserve a particular property is paid at your own risk.  Applicants should avoid committing financially until a full eligibility check has been carried out by the provider selling the property.

We will contact you every 6 months to confirm whether your circumstances have changed to ensure we keep our records up-to-date. If you wish you can enter any changes directly on to the website.

Our Events and Roadshows

Periodically we will hold HomeBuy events across the South West and we will advise you by email when we are in your area. We also attend events run by local authorities, housing associations, developers and large employers. We encourage you to check this page to see when and where events are being held near you.
